Studio Information

Clarinet & Saxophone Handbook. The handbook has lots of useful information for clarinet and saxophone private lesson students. Included in the handbook are the lesson syllabus, Michael Dean's Statement of Educational Philosophy, important phone numbers, and recommended books, websites, and journals.

Clarinet & Saxophone Applied Lesson Levels. The documents below have scale requirements, etudes, music, books, etc. for each semester of private lesson study on clarinet and saxophone at Southeast Missouri State University. Please note that the particular needs and interests of each student will be the determining factor in the course of study with respect to etudes, music, etc. (The exception to this is that the first four levels of scales are required of each student as stated.)

Private Lesson Log Form. The following link is to a form that students can print out and use to record private lesson assignments and what was discussed and worked on in lessons. (Michael Dean uses this form to keep a record of each clarinet and saxophone lesson taught at Southeast Missouri State University.)
